Ceramic Tile Shower Base

beginning installation * * *
1. Framing Instructions
·
Prepare the opening size, stud-to-stud as indicated in
Table 1 below. Laurel Marble, Inc. recommends verification of actual
base size prior to final framing as each size may slightly vary from
base to base.
·
Locate the studs, then insure that the rough opening
dimensions are proper, plumb, and square. Make sure that the drain
rough-in is in the correct location.

base. We recommend having base on site prior to final framing to insure
accuracy.
Laurel reserves the right to change the dimensions and sizes without notice.
2. Shower Pan Placement
· Before
moving the shower pan into position,
make
sure that you have the proper drain kit on hand (not included) and
that the connections to the drain line are in the correct position
and height.
·
Carefully move the shower base into
position and make sure it is level and that the base makes full
contact with the sub floor. If necessary, the shower base can be
nested in a layer of mortar to obtain the proper level and stability. (Refer to
illustrations below.)

3. Drain
Assembly - 2" PVC Shower Pan Drain Kit *(not included)
·
The drain kit is for a standard 2"
drain pipe.
·
Install the drain in the shower base as
illustrated below.
·
Drain installation instructions are
shown for reference purposes only. Laurel recommends following the
drain manufacturer's instructions.

NOTICE: ALL WALL MATERIALS
SHOULD BE FIRMLY ATTACHED TO THE WALLS SO THAT THE SHOWER BASE IS NOT
SUPPORTING THE WEIGHT. UNDER NO
CIRCUMSTANCES SHOULD ANY HOLES BE DRILLED IN THE SHOWER BASE!
WHETHER FOR INSTALLATION PURPOSES OR MOUNTING SHOWER DOOR HARDWARE, ANY
MODIFICATIONS TO THE BASE WILL VOID THE WARRANTY!
